Time to drink the good stuff like there’s no tomorrow* #2
Paolo Manzone Barolo Meriame Riserva 2008
Piemonte, 14.5%. Aged in 500L new oak, followed by ceramic jars.
Cedar, sweet spices. Rosehip, plum, prune, smoke and briar. Silky texture, even at this youthful age. Palate flooding with rich red fruit, spices and coffee-bean roast. Tannins resolving, integrated acidity, sumptuous, mouthcoating persistent finish. A great wine.
I had been saving this for a special occasion. It has become its own occasion.
