W.S.E.T. Wine and Spirit Education Trust Intermediate Course
Taught by a Master of Wine (MW) - the highest qualification in wine.
A detailed introductory look at the world’s most well-known wines, grape varieties and regions, tasting around 48 different wines.
Elevate your wine knowledge and learn how to serve and recommend wines to guests to enhance their trip.
Globally recognised qualifications awarded for successful candidates.
Study Packs will be distributed in advance, and prior reading is highly recommended.

WSET Level 1 Award in Wines.
€300TTC (€250 HT) per person
W.S.E.T. Wine and Spirit Education Trust Course
Taught by a Master of Wine (MW) - the highest qualification in wine.
A beginner level introduction to wine suitable for those starting a wine career or pursuing an interest in wine.
What you will learn:
- The main types and styles of wine
- Common wine grapes and their characteristics
- How to store and serve wine
- The principles of food and wine pairing
As part of a fun day of learning and tasting, this qualification provides a hands-on introduction to the world of wine. You’ll explore the main types and styles of wine through sight, smell, and taste, while also gaining the basic skills to describe wines accurately and make food and wine pairings. Upon successful completion, you will receive a WSET certificate and lapel pin.

R.W.A. Courses
We will be offering wine courses throughout the year in venues across the Côte d'Azur and Monaco, it would be fantastic if you could join us!
The courses will be taught in English, but translation into French is available if needed.
The emphasis will be on fun, food and tasting. Not a stuffy academic exercise - wine is a drink after all!
Our Master of Wine (MW) will guide you through a range of different and illustrative wines across the styles available, using examples from all over the world. Discover exactly why you like the wines you like, and the opposite of course. All useful stuff, and an increasingly valuable social skill.
One Day Course
Discover the basics of the world's wine styles with a lovely lunch in convivial surroundings.

One evening per week, we will go into more detail about the world's wines and help you to choose more effectively to your own taste in future.

W.S.E.T. (Wine and Spirit Education Trust) Courses
The Riviera Wine Academy will be running training courses, including the range from the WSET (Wine and Spirit Education Trust), for yacht crew, villa staff, and anyone else interested!.
These courses lead to internationally recognised academic qualifications (for more information please visit the WSET) and also qualify toward the PYA Interior qualifications. We are an Approved Programme Provider (APP) for the WSET.
A one day course with an exam covering the basics of wine, grape varieties, styles of wine, storage and service, and a basic understanding of food matching. Minimum 5, Maximum 20 attendees.
A detailed introductory look at the world's most well-known wines, grape varieties and regions, tasting around 48 different wines. Study packs will be distributed in advance and prior reading is recommended. Minimum 5, Maximum 18 attendees.
A thorough examination of the world's wine producing areas in great detail, tasting around 85 different wines. This is of the academic standard of a UK A Level, and will require some pre-study. Five days split either side of a weekend to allow for a break and some revision.
(having passed Level 2 is essential)
to include full study pack, examination, expert tuition, at least 85 different wines to try, water, coffee etc
